Based on a book of the same name by former Tokyo correspondent Jake Adelstein, Tokyo Vice is an American crime drama television series created by J.T. Rogers. In addition to Adam Sessler as Adelstein, Walton Goggins, Romany Malco, and Lily Rabe play supporting roles in the series. The series premiered on HBO on August 6, 2018.

Tokyo Vice is set in the hyperkinetic and corrupt world of 1980s Tokyo. The series follows the adventures of Thierry, a young reporter for a French newspaper, and his cynical, hard-drinking American partner Jimmy.
